Why Good Workout Clothes Matter More Than I Used to Think
I used to think workout sets were just about looking good, but later realized they actually affect the training experience. If I could go back a few years in time, I probably wouldn't have seriously studied sportswear. Back then, I thought the most important thing about fitness was consistency—what you wore didn't matter at all. An old T-shirt, a pair of black leggings , and a pair of training shoes I've worn for nearly two years—those are pretty much all my gear. Until one leg day, my mindset was completely changed. That day, I went to the gym wearing a pair of old sweatpants that I had washed countless times. Everything felt fine during warm-up, but problems started when the actual workout began. The waistband of the pants slides down when doing squats, and my pants keep riding up when I do Romanian deadlifts. When doing Bulgarian split squats, I almost have to stop to readjust after every set. After the workout was over, my deepest feeling wasn't muscle soreness in my legs. But it's annoying.
